Hebrews 2:7-9
Disciples’ Literal New Testament
7 You made him lower[a] than angels for a little[b] while. You crowned him with glory and honor. 8 You subjected all things under his feet” [Ps 8:4-6]. For[c] in the subjecting all things to him, He left nothing not-subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things having been subjected to him. 9 But[d] we see the One having been made lower than angels for a little while— Jesus— having been crowned with glory and honor because-of the suffering of the death, so-that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

- Hebrews 2:7 That is, in physical status, being mortal.
- Hebrews 2:7 Or, a little bit lower than angels.
- Hebrews 2:8 The writer draws his point from the psalm. God did not subject the coming world to angels, for He left nothing not subject to man (or, to Jesus).
- Hebrews 2:9 The writer contrasts the present lack of fulfillment in man (or in Jesus, referring to His presently unsubdued enemies) to the present fulfillment in Jesus.
